Fallen Flag Tribute : Burlington Northern
Any BN fans out there? Fallen Flag Tribute : Burlington Northern is the latest installment in our series of videos to pay tribute to railroads that are no longer in existence today. The BN had a long, proud history as one of America's leading Class I railroads, and in 1995 the merger between BN and ATSF marked the end of the Burlington Northern. This video focuses much of its attention on the BN "cascade green" paint scheme, and to a lesser degree, the darker "green-and-cream" paint scheme that was introduced with the SD70MACs in the final years preceeding the merger. Each train on this video has a BN painted locomotive in the LEAD position, many without any BNSF markings at all. Some power consists seen contain solid lashups of BN painted locomotives. The majority of the trains depicted are BNSF trains running on ex-BN territory (Alabama, Montana, North Dakota, Illinois, etc.). However, there are a couple of chapters that show a few CSXT and NS trains with run-through pool power with BN painted locomotives in the LEAD position. Various locomotive models are featured, including SD60Ms, SD40-2s, GP39Vs, GP40Ms, C30-7s, and more. If you have grown weary of the orange livery presented by today's BNSF, or you just simply want to take the time to remember the BN, this video will be a pleasant experience! Videography by Mike Dixon. Edited and Produced by Mike Dixon.
