BNSF Anti-Orange Predecessor Power
Volume Two

Welcome to the second volume in our BNSF Anti-Orange Predecessor Power series. For Volume Two, most of the footage is comprised of a 2006 visit to the Forsyth and Dickinson Subs in Montana and North Dakota. There is a smaller segment that includes a 2005 visit to the Dickinson and Jamestown Subs in North Dakota and the Staples Sub in Minnesota. You won't believe your eyes when you see what our cameras captured eleven years after the BN and ATSF merger! There are a total of 138 locomotives featured in this compilation, and only 14 of these are in orange paint. That figure translates into 90%. That's right, 90% of the locomotives on this video do not wear an orange livery! And we're not talking about "Rust Buckets", "Pink Bonnets", or "Faded Glories" either. The locomotives depicted in this video are all clean and have a very attractive appearance. We are talking about BN painted green and white SD60Ms and SD40-2s, red and silver Santa Fe Superfleet SD75s, blue and white former Oakway SD60s, and a few green and cream SD70MACs. All trains featured have one of these locomotives in the lead position. We even get lucky one day and run into "one of a kind" BNSF SD70MAC #9647 (a.k.a. "The Vomit Bonnet") leading an empty coal train on the Jamestown Sub. For those who have grown weary of the parade of orange locomotives presented by today's BNSF, this DVD will be an exciting and breathtaking experience! Videography by Mike Dixon. Edited and Produced by Mike Dixon.

A BN painted SD60M leads a pair of former Oakway SD60s on eastbound BNSF loaded coal train C-ABMBEN (Absaloka Mine, MT to Becker, MN) on the morning of Monday, August 7, 2006 as it crosses a small creek near Shirley, Montana. This train is included on the DVD. A matched pair of Santa Fe-lettered Warbonnet SD75Ms run solo on BNSF westbound empty coal train E-SUDDKM (Superior, WI to Decker Mine, MT) as they swing around the big, sweeping curve at Beach, North Dakota on the afternoon of Saturday, August 5, 2006. This train is included on the DVD.
