Variety in the Southeast 2008

Variety in the Southeast 2008 depicts a wide variety of locomotive power seen in the southeastern United States during the year 2008. We continue to follow the adventures of Southeast Railfanning videographer Mike Dixon, who is also a railroad employee, as he "sniffs out" those exotic, colorful, and unusual locomotive consists on various NS trains. The trains are shown in chronological order. All of the exciting locomotive lashups you have come to expect from Southeast Railfanning are all here for you to enjoy. Highlights include spectacular footage of the new KCS locomotives painted in the beautiful "Southern Belle" paint scheme, both GEVO and SD70ACe models. NS had a surge in grain and manifest traffic during the Fall months, and you will be amazed at the colorful and unusual lashups we caught with our cameras. Solid leased SD40-2 lashups were seen, including quartets of the CEFX "bluebird" SD40-2s. Of course, there are many surprises as well including a quick trip to the CN in Mississippi where we caught a "cowl-body" SD60F pulling a southbound loaded grain train. There are simply too many exciting lashups to list here, so sit back and indulge yourself in some of the best armchair railfanning you will ever experience! Everyone will enjoy this unique video, but if you are a fan of our "Best of" series, then you will especially want to add this video to your collection, as our "Variety in the Southeast" series compliments our "Best of" series very nicely. Come see why 2008 was another fantastic year for Southeast Railfanning!! Videography by Mike Dixon. Edited and Produced by Mike Dixon.
