Best of 2005 - Volume Two

The Best of 2005 - Volume Two covers the months May through September, and is even better than our Volume One compilation for 2005. Volume Two again details the results of SouthEast Railfanning videographer Mike Dixon in his relentless pursuit of trains with exotic locomotive consists. The trains depicted in this DVD are various CSXT and NS trains captured in the states of Georgia and Alabama. We carefully picked our favorite trains (46 in all!) and show them in chronological order. We get off to a rather slow start in early May, capturing a few nice NS trains, but we finish strong with a spectacular and busy September as we capture a myriad of colorful "rainbow" lashups on CSXT. The many interesting and unusual locomotive consists you have come to expect from Southeast Railfanning are all here for you to enjoy. Highlights include a very attractive Wisconsin Central SD45 leading NS manifest train 175 through the "Golden City" of Aragon, Georgia on a hot and sunny June morning. Next, we capture an unpatched Chicago & North Western C44-9W, in surprisingly remarkable shape, leading NS vehicle train 283 through Varnell in northwest Georgia. We hit several "home runs" in the lease power arena on CSXT, by capturing a pair of blue-and-maroon HLCX SD40s running solo on manifest train S617, a pair of blue CEFX SD40-2s (SD45 car bodies) running solo on vehicle train Q255, and a "three of a kind team" of green-and-silver FURX SD40-2s running solo on manifest train Q685 on the Lineville Sub in rural Alabama. There are simply far too many exciting lashups to list here, so sit back and indulge yourself in some of the best armchair railfanning you will ever experience! If you have already purchased our 2004 Volumes, you will definitely want to check out our 2005 Volumes. Come see why 2005 was another fantastic year for SouthEast Railfanning!!
