Best of 2005 - Volume One

The Best of 2005 series picks up right where the 2004 series left off. Volume One covers the months of January thru April, and details the results of SouthEast Railfanning videographer Mike Dixon in his relentless pursuit of trains with interesting locomotive consists. The trains depicted in this video are various CSXT and NS trains captured in the states of Georgia and Alabama. We carefully picked our favorite trains (46 in all!) and show them in chronological order. We quickly get off to a good start for the year, as we capture several nice NS trains north of Atlanta, Georgia on the New Year's Day Holiday. Finally, we conclude on a Monday in late April where we capture NS southbound manifest train 175 in North Georgia with a handsome BNSF Superfleet SD75I in the lead. Many other trains are also featured, with the unusual and colorful locomotive consists you have come to expect from Southeast Railfanning. Highlights include a very attractive (and rare!) Santa Fe-painted B23-7 leading NS manifest train 347 between Atlanta and Macon, Georgia, and a Soo Line SD60/Conrail C40-8/CSXT SD50 team on a CSXT loaded unit-coke train in South Georgia. There are simply too many exciting lashups to list here, so sit back and indulge yourself in some of the best armchair railfanning you will ever experience!
