Northwest Georgia Steam Spectacular
This video covers the time period of June 1994 through October 1997. It's intriguing to imagine what it must've been like when steam locomotives ruled the mainlines of American railroads. In this video we witness the "Peach Blossom Special" featuring the SLSF #1522 and N&W #611 which became the LAST steam excursion to operate over the NS Birmingham East and Atlanta North Districts in June 1994 as well as two steam doubleheaders in October 1996 and October 1997 on the Chattooga and Chickamauga Railway which at one time was part of Central of Georgia's Chattanooga-Columbus, Georgia mainline. The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's own ex-US Army 2-8-0 #610 and the legendary ex-Southern Railway 2-8-2 #4501 perform the honors of pulling the "Autumn Leaf" specials. We even spent one Saturday capturing the #4501 on the C&C pulling an excursion solo!!! Videography by Brian Morgan. Edited and Produced by Brian Morgan.
