Conrail Locomotives After The Merger
Volume One
Volume One covers the time period of September 2000 through May 2002. It is truly hard to believe that it has been almost four and a half years since Norfolk Southern and CSX Transportation took over Conrail railroad operations on June 1, 1999. Conrail had been in existence for a little over twenty-three years which is a "blink of the eye" as far as railroad history goes. Thankfully, there are a few hundred locomotives plying today's NS and CSXT rails that still carry their "Conrail" or "Conrail Quality" paint schemes. In the not too distant future all "Big Blue" locomotives will wear NS black and white or CSXT blue and gold. This video examines the various Conrail locomotive models in service on both NS and CSXT. Everything from B23-7s to SD80MACs are represented leading various trains all across the Southeast. Many of the locomotives on this video have already been repainted so time is slowly but surely running out. Come along for the ride as we look back at "Big Blue"! Videography by Brian Morgan. Edited and Produced by Brian Morgan.
