Chasing Exotic Motive Power In The Southeast
Volume One

Our first installment of the "Chasing Exotic Motive Power In The Southeast" series covers the time period of October 2000 through November 2002. Do you like the thrills and excitement of chasing and capturing an "exotic" locomotive consist on film or video? Over the last few years we have truly been blessed with the number of what we consider "exotic" locomotive consists that we've been able to capture on video. Shot in the tradition of various "The Best Of ....." railroad videos and films you've seen in the past, this video examines a small portion of my video collection.

We will visit BNSF's Birmingham Subdivision; Canadian National's Yazoo Subdivision; CSXT's Fitzgerald and Lineville Subdivisions; and Norfolk Southern's Atlanta North, Birmingham East, and GS&F Districts in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. A few video highlights include CP SD40-2F #9011 heading up CSXT molten sulphur train K869 on the Fitzgerald Subdivision; NS SD40-2 #3233 leading SIX other high hood locomotives on manifest #442 on the Atlanta North District; IC SD70 #1039 leading another IC SD70, a GTW GP38-2, and six KCS locomotives on the Yazoo Subdivision; CSXT manifest X003 with BNSF SD45-2 #6515 in charge of THREE more BNSF SD45-2s and TWO BNSF SD45-2Bs (ALL SIX LOCOMOTIVES WERE STILL IN SANTA FE PAINT!!!) on the Fitzgerald Subdivision; and UP SD70M #2002 (adorned in a special 2002 Winter Olympics paint scheme) leading NS intermodal train #226 on the Birmingham East District. There are just TOO MANY awesome lashups to list here! Sit back in that easy chair and enjoy watching one of the most "colorful" videos you'll ever experience! Videography by Brian Morgan. Edited and Produced by Brian Morgan.
