CSXT Lease Power

This video covers the time period of November 2000 through January 2007. The video was shot in the states of Alabama and Georgia on CSXT's A&WP, Atlanta Terminal, Fitzgerald, Lineville, Manchester, S&NA North, and W&A Subdivisions. Over the course of the last several years CSXT has leased a variety of locomotives from many different leasing companies, including CEFX (CIT Equipment Finance Corporation), EMDX (General Motors Locomotive Group), FURX (First Union Rail), GCFX (GEC Alsthom Incorporated), GECX (General Electric Leasing), GSCX (Capital Corporation), HLCX (Helm Financial Corporation), LMSX (Locomotive Management Services), RLCX (RELCO Locomotives Incorporated), and RMGX (Railcar Limited). Most of these locomotives come in a variety of colorful and attractive paint schemes, unlike many of the "leasers" of a few years ago, which carried rusty, and faded-out versions of their original owners' colors.

We begin our journey on a cold November 2000 morning by capturing RMGX (ex-Burlington Northern) C30-7 #5041 leading manifest Q647 on the S&NA North Subdivision at Harris, Alabama, and end our trip on a mild January 2007 morning by catching HLCX (ex-Burlington Northern) SD40-2 #6297 heading up manifest Q539 on the W&A Subdivision at Acworth, Georgia. Come along for the ride and experience the variety that can be found on today's CSXT rails! Videography by Brian Morgan. Edited and Produced by Brian Morgan.
