A Tribute To The Wisconsin Central
This video covers the time period of March 2001 through October 2005. Over the last few years we've developed a strong fondness for the Wisconsin Central. The railroad's beautiful maroon and gold paint scheme and modern-day use of SD45s has always intrigued us. After the Canadian National merged the WC into its vast system on October 7, 2001, we became determined to capture as much WC locomotive power as we could on videotape. We have been VERY BLESSED here in the southeastern United States because Wisconsin Central power has shown up quite frequently on both CSXT and Norfolk Southern trains over the last several years. Sadly, the day will come when Wisconsin Central locomotives are just another "fallen flag".
This video pays a special tribute to our favorite railroad, the Wisconsin Central! Watch as Wisconsin Central motive power is captured leading trains on both CSXT and Norfolk Southern in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee! Video highlights include footage of BOTH WC Operation Lifesaver SD45s, the #7638 and #7525, leading separate CSXT trains; the LAST remaining WC FP45, the #6652, LEADING a hot CSXT autorack train; the sole WC SD40, the #6001, leading a NS manifest; and SEVERAL SOLID lashups of WC power on both NS and CSXT! Most of the locomotives on this video have now been retired or are awaiting disposition from the Canadian National roster so this is one video you don't want to miss! Videography by Brian Morgan. Edited and Produced by Brian Morgan.
